Looking at the way a layering tank can coordinate with the sports bra.
KEY HOLE OPENING
Allows tank to stay in place but still shows sports bra detailing underneath.
2D - 3D
Initial make:
Too much bulk around the back
Front needs shaping to flatter the female body
Second toile: Tencel fabric very light, back opening causes too much gaping. This needs to be amended in design to suit chosen fabric.
3D Experimentation:
Using contrasting fabric to determine shape of tank. Centre curve on back panels
Remove side seam to allow fabric to move with the body
Move shouler seam onto the back of tank
Binding at 1cm

Fabric: ECONYL
TOILE CHANGES:
Shorten main body by 3cm
Create more of a curve around arm on front
One panel from front to back straps, lining fabric changes around shoulders
CONTOUR SHORTS INITIAL SKETCHES

Toile one (royal blue) : too short +5cm length including roll under for cover seam. Waistband needs shaping to be narrower at top.
Toile two: Correct length. To be created using flat seam machine for minimal distraction when wearing.
